The Importance of Linoleic Acid in Poultry Diets

چکیده
-Linoleic acid is an essential nutrient for growing and adult poultry and a deficiency will adversely influence growth and the reproductive performance of male and female birds. The requirement for linoleic acid during growth and lay in birds fed an adequate diet is approximately 10 g/kg of,diet but conventional Austr.alian diets based on wheat, sorghum and meat meal do not normally meet this requirement.

The Metabolic Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acids (CLA) in Chickens: A Review
Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are natural constituents of meat and dairy products from ruminants, originating from bacterial biohydrogenation in the rumen. CLA supplementation increases the health benefits of animal-derived foods. There are inconsistent reports of the effects of dietary CLA on chicken’s performance; however, the majority of previous reports cite anti-lipogenic effects of CLA....
متن کاملThe effects of conjugated linoleic acids or an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor on tissue lipid concentrations and fatty acid composition of broiler chicks fed a low-protein diet.
The effects of dietary conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor--Bay g 5421--on tissue lipid concentrations and fatty acid composition were investigated in male broiler chicks fed a low-protein diet. The trial comprised six isoenergetic broiler diets. One diet (high-protein diet) was used as a control diet and contained 230 g crude protein per kilogram. The other five d...
متن کاملHumic acid as a feed additive in poultry diets: a review
Many studies tested different feed additives, among these additives, humic substances (HS) have been used in livestock and poultry diets. Humic substances commonly present in nature as they are created from the organic matter decomposition, and are normally found in the soil and natural water. Active components of HS consist of humic acid (HA), humus, ulmic acid, fulvic acid, humin and certain ...

Poultry fat has become a more economical source of energy than byproducts currently used. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effects of dietary fat source (poultry fat or beef tallow) in finishing diets for cattle on the fatty acid composition of beef. Sixty Angus crossbred steers (410.8 kg initial BW) were stratified by source, blocked by weight, and assigned within block to ...
